Introduction

Welcome to Swaabhaas

The belief in helping others, sharing good values, lifting up the social and financial status of the underprivileged is what Swaabhaas Foundation stands for. We strive to bring about meaningful change in the society by helping with various CSR initiatives. The lockdown has brought a halt to the world. Swaabhaas Foundation is a new bud encompassing women empowerment through cottage industries, education, healthcare, community development etc

Swaabhaas Foundation is founded by a team of minded individuals who believe in the upliftment of the lower society by providing them training, raw material and work through small scale industries, SHGs, Gruh Udyog etc. and exhibiting their work on various platform which is inaccessible to them. During lockdown when it was difficult for many people to procure the necessities. Acting upon it, Swaabhaas Foundation reached out and helped numerous underprivileged communities with basic requirements.

Let’s help them together.

Women Empowerment

Based on the assumptions that women differ from men in their social positions and that those differences consist of asymmetric, unequal power relations between the genders, “women’s empowerment” refers to the process of increasing women’s access to control over the strategic life choices that affect them and access to the opportunities that allow them fully to realize their capacities.

Women’s empowerment as an economic, political, and socio-cultural process challenges the system of sexual stratification that has resulted in women’s subordination and marginalization in order to improve women’s quality of life.

The role of NGOS in Women Empowerment

NGOs are doing various bits, as no single NGO can cover the whole gamut of activities required for comprehensive empowerment

  • Education on maternal health, and safe child birth
  • Nutrition and child care
  • Education of the girl child (nearly 20% of girl children drop out of school before puberty)
  • Toilets in schools and public places
  • Savings for college education for the girl child (sukanya samriddhi)
  • Training in livelihood skills
  • Microfinance for small businesses, through SHGs (Self Help Group)
  • Shelter for victims of domestic violence and abuse of any kind
  • Free legal aid and guidance for victims of abuse (sexual harassment, acid attack, child marriage, dowry harassment)

What We Do

Poverty is very wide term. It encompasses not only economic dimension (which many of us think) but also social, cultural, moral, political etc. One can be morally poor even though she/he earns millions. Likewise one can be politically poor, culturally poor besides being economically poor.

In order to improve standard of living of the poor we, at Swaabhaas Foundation, are working on the below approaches:

  • Ensuring a basic minimum source of income by making them an active member of the SHGs, grih udyog etc.
  • Providing them training for making several useful articles which can be sold on various social and physical platforms.
  • Making them aware of their rights and duties so that they turn out to be more responsible citizens.
  • Educating this generation of poor, making them socially and morally responsible.
  • We are actively working with the transgender as well so that they can also hold their heads high.

Organising Various camps in different areas on the following topics so that we can have a better generation in future
